La Mesa RV now offers Georgie Boy motor homes

La Mesa RV just took on the Georgie Boy motor coach line. If you're in the market for a motor home, you need to stop by La Mesa RV to check out the Georgie Boy fine line of coaches.

I tested the 31-foot Landau with the side door entrance. This entrance enhances the coach's floor plan because you don't accidentally hit your head on the overhead television when entering at the passenger seat entrance. Plus, the floor plan can be laid out to accommodate a party of friends.

Powered by a Ford 6.8-liter V8 gas engine, this coach handles the hills of Alpine with little effort and you can also tow a small vehicle or trailer.
The backup camera is well positioned in the dash for easy viewing and the large outside mirrors can be adjusted manually and electrically to any desired position.

This model has very comfortable seating for the driver and passenger, with all controls within easy reach of the driver. Even though the 27-inch color TV is mounted in the roof between the driver and passenger, there's still plenty of visibility, plus a track-mounted curtain for maximum privacy when parked. The outstanding sound system (AM/FM/ in-dash CD player and MP3 compatible) can be controlled from the driver's seat. The radio even gets the weather channel, a great feature for cross-country travelers.

You don't normally find a driver's door in anything other than a C class motor home, but Georgie Boy has put in a driver's door for a couple of reasons. You won't disturb anyone when fueling the coach or just going outside for set up or light maintenance. It's a nice feature, but it takes a little getting used to stepping on the flip up step and grabbing the assist rails. After a couple of times, I became very comfortable with it.

The living area is well appointed with a love seat that converts into a very comfortable bed. There's also get a four-seat dining area. The kitchen is a great workstation with a double-door refrigerator, microwave oven, three-bunner stove top with lighted hood, Welbeck Birch cabinets and
linoleum flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom is big enough for just about anyone and despite the Queen size bed, there's plenty of room to move around in the bedroom.

The Landau comes with two slide outs - one in the front living area and the other in the rear bedroom. Once extended, the rear slider turns your home on wheels into a very comfortable living area.

You don't hear a lot about safety in motor homes but Georgie Boy is quite safety conscious. It has an override for the slide outs, which means you must push two buttons at the same time to extend or retract the slide outs and the switches are mounted high enough that the little people in your family can't reach the switches. Other safety features are the daytime running lights and fog lights, which could light up an air field.

The handling and braking is superb. There's an outside shower system, locking gas door, cable and it's satellite ready. In fact, the list of features is longer than the space I have to devote to this motorhome.

If you're in the market for a motorhome (that you may be able to finance as a second home, check with your taxman), the Georgie Boy is a great choice. There are different lengths, floor plans and power plants to choose from. La Mesa RV has a coach to fit just about anyone's budget and lifestyle
requirements. Check out La Mesa RV a www.lamesarv.com.
