2009 Nissan GT-R

2009 Nissan GT-R Premium

GT-R has to stand for "Got To Race", Nissan has put together one of the finest super cars I have driven at a reasonable price.  It is right up there with Viper, Corvette ZO6 and few others I can't think of.  This GT-R came from Nissan Corp. so I could drive it like I stole it if I wanted to, and I did, sorry I couldn't help it!
One thing strange about the GT-R is that early in the morning (Off to KUSI, see the video on their website www.kusi.com Morning Show) it acted like a grumpy old man, don't bother me it snorted as it started up with a rattle or two.  The twin clutch disc engaged as I put the six-speed automatic transmission into reverse and as the GT-R moved out of my driveway it seemed like it had arthritis but once it smelled to open road it became a red blooded racer pulling at the reigns to go as fast as you will let it.
The transmission is a F1 paddle shift design which in the manual mode will allow you to shift at the rpm you desire but trust me leave it in the Automatic mode and it will impress the hell out of you with its butter smooth shifting.
Where do I start, maybe with the V6 twin turbocharged hand built engine which will give you 480 horsepower and 434 foot pounds of torque and if you baby it you can get 16 miles per gallon in the city and 21 on the open road.  If you're are an information addict then you will love the 10 plus pages of information found in the center dash.  You can view G-Forces on turns, straight a ways, accelerating and stopping.  You can view the temperatures of all the fluid worth looking at including turbo boost and instantaneous mileage (I got up to 37 miles per gallon once!).
Sitting behind the wheel is like sitting in a fighter plane or a Trans Am racer, seat will grab you and nestle you in for the ride of you life oh and did I mention they are heated?  Nice thick steering wheel with controls galore in the wheel, short stubby shifter in the center console, XM radio along with a killer Bose sound system which I didn't listen to very much but what I did I loved. This GT-R is a four passenger but it might take a little adjustment to get someone in the back seat.  The trunk was spacious enough for grocery shopping and maybe a weekend trip with soft luggage.
Sitting on High Performance Bridgestone Run Flat tires, 20X9.5 up front and 20X10.5 in the rear monster vented drilled disc brakes with Brembo brakes for excellent stopping power.
O to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds top speed of 195 puts this car in a great class but if you don't want to curl you hair this GT-R is as tame as a Nissan Maxima if you want it to be.  This hot rod will set you back about $80,000 if you can find one and suggest you do that, if it isn't a collector it is a fabulous driver's car.  I'm out of room and there is more to talk about, so go to www.totallymotorsports.com and click on the radio logos and listen to my review on air!
