2014 Chevy Camaro, 2014 Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger

Finding the right new car today can be a daunting task. I am asked all the time, which is the worse car on the market? (I was a new car service manager for 30 years) I tell folks, "the one you're driving". Today the manufacturer can't afford to put out an inferior car or truck. Thanks to this website we will try and help you make the right decision, but the final decision is yours, you must drive the cars or trucks at day and night, you never know what you may not like about the car driving during daylight hours or nighttime. So let's look at these three popular cars in alphabetical order:

2014 Chevy Camaro
Camaro is deep in history along with the other two cars, the base Camaro start out at $23,345 with a base V6 engine that produces 323 horsepower backed by a 6-speed manual transmission that will get you 30 miles per gallon. You can option the Camaro out if unbridled power is what you're after. The Camaro aluminum SS 6.2L, V8 engine offers 426 horsepower and a 6-speed manual behind it and hang on. The Camaro comes in a lot of different styles, coupe, convertible, ZL-1 coupe and ZL-1 convertible. You get to choose from six base exterior colors and two premium colors. The interior gives you two cloth choices.

2014 Dodge Challenger
Challenger hit the streets running with their version of days gone by, starting out at $27,290. You have more versions of the Challenger, SXT, SXT Plus, Rallye Red Line move to the V8 and you can pick an RT, RT Plus, RT Classic, SRT8 Core, and SRT8 392. The base Challenger starts with 6 exterior colors and one interior color on the base model. Move up and the options widened. Your base engine/transmission are a 3.6-Liter V6 24-Valve VVT Engine puts out 305 horsepower backed by a 5-Speed automatic transmission that will get you 27 miles per gallon on the freeway.

2014 Ford Mustang
The Ford Mustang is the only pony car to stay true to its heritage from day one, no break in production and a leader in performance. The base model starts out at $22,200 and it comes with a V6 producing 305 horsepower backed by a 6-speed manual transmission and you will get 29 miles per gallon on the open road. Your model choices are a V6, V6 Premium, V6 convertible, V6 premium convertible move to the V8 and you can choose from a GT, GT premium, GT convertible, GT premium convertible, Shelby GT 500 and Shelby GT 500 convertible. You get to choose from nine different exterior colors and one interior color on the base V6 model.

To recap the above reviews, this could be a tough decision especially if you're a Baby Boomer; we were pretty true to our Car Badges, but for you drivers out there that don't really care about badges as long as it meets your needs this is a fun group of cars to choose from. They all have their positives and negatives, but I can't tell you what they are, you need to either rent one or take one from the dealer for a good road test. Remember, what I think is cool about the car you may not?
Things you need to consider, do you fit in the driver seat? Can you see clearly from the driver seat, front, and back sides? How does it drive at night and during the day? Do you get hit with a glare from the glass or dash? Is the trunk big enough for your needs? What fuel must you run? If it calls for Premium gas and you run Regular gas you run a risk of getting worse fuel mileage and excessive carbon build up.
