JUNE Calendar for 2008 JUNE CALENDAR Jun. 28: Perris Auto Speedway will host Late Models, Super Stocks, and Street Stocks & Lightning Sprints. Free Bike Give-a-Way and recycling days. Jun. 28: Toyota Speedway will host Super Late Models, Super Trucks, Mini Stocks, Bandoleros, and a Demo Derby. Jun. 28: Craftsman Trucks will be at Memphis Motorsports Park and will air on SPEED at 5:30 pm PST. Jun. 28: Nationwide series will be at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and will air on ABC at 11:30 am PST. Jun. 29: Sprint Cup Series will be at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and will air on TNT at 9:30 am PST. Jun. 26-29: NHRA will be at Norwalk Ohio and will air on ESPN2. Jun. 28: Indy Racing League will be at Richmond International Raceway and will air on ESPN2 at 5 pm PST. Jun. 29: AMA Motocross will be at Lakewood Colorado and will be on SPEED. Jun. 28-29: Ivan "Ironman" Stewart will be at Del Mar for the Del Mar Pro Truck Series. ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Automotive Related Museum's In San Diego San Diego Automotive Museum, located in Balboa Park this museum is open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm daily with last admission at 4:30 pm. Admission is $7, seniors and active military get in for $6 and kids 6 to 15 are $3 and kids under 6 are free. The museum has a speaker's bureau for your meeting for a nominal fee, contact the museum at 619-231-2886 or www.sdautomuseum.org. Horseless Carriage Foundation Library, located at 8186 Center St. La Mesa. This is a working library for automobile research and restoration. The library is open from 10 am to 2 pm Tuesday thru Saturday. For more information call 619-464-0301 or e-mail to hcfi@aol.com. J.A. Cooley Museum, located at 4233 Park Blvd. in North Park. The museum specializes in early years of automobile history and features 23 vehicles in original condition. Admission is $5 and kids are $2. Open Monday thru Friday from 10 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from noon to 4 pm, guided tours available for three or more people, for more information call 619-296-3112. Motor Transport Museum, located at 31949 State Route 94, Campo. Open 9 am to 5 pm Saturdays only. Admission is free but donations are happily accepted. The museum is full of trucks of old, some in weathered conditions but some totally restored, you can stroll through the old trucks and listen to the caretaker who will talk to you as long as you care to listen. The San Diego Auto Collection, the newest collection in town, located at 7215 El Cajon Blvd. and open from 9 am to 6 pm daily Tuesday through Saturday, admission is free, about 25 vehicles are on display and some are for sale. There is a special antique memorabilia section that you can rent a shelf for all of your automotive collectibles to be sold plus a collection of antique radios. Simpson's Garden Town Nursery and Auto Barn, located at 13925 Highway 94 in Jamul, open 8:30 am to 5:00 pm daily, over 70 classic and hot rods on display, old trailers, a petting zoo and a special area for car clubs to come and have a free car show all that is asked is the car club has insurance, the area is paved with grass to park on a gazebo for music and a vintage gas station for bar-b-q and covered picnic tables.
